BESPOKE EFFECTS: SOMETHING VERY BAD IS GOING TO HAPPEN
Showrunner Haley Z. Boston’s mantra, “there’s no such thing as too much blood,” set the tone for a season of visual effects that included over 250 shots of hero CG blood and supporting gore, environments and invisible effects.
@msjohughes , Production VFX Supervisor / Producer, oversaw the visual effects, with Rocket Science VFX proudly serving as lead vendor.
“Having Haley’s crystal-clear vision guiding us from day one made creating the visual effects an absolute joy. That clarity meant our team built on a solid foundation, and the results speak for themselves,” expresses Hughes.

"Our task was to make her power look rigid enough to feel contained and be used as a weapon, while fluid enough to feel like real blood."- Adam Jewett, VFX Supervisor
The build required a dynamic blood whip modeled after octopus tentacle movement, high-velocity simulations referencing zero-gravity space fluids, and razor sharp 3D shards.
