BESPOKE EFFECTS: SOMETHING VERY BAD IS GOING TO HAPPEN
Showrunner Haley Z. Boston’s mantra, “there’s no such thing as too much blood,” set the tone for a season of visual effects that included over 250 shots of hero CG blood and supporting gore, environments and invisible effects.

The @rocketsciencevfx team gave Marie Moreau her hemokinetic powers in season one of GEN V, @primevideo `s THE BOYS universe spinoff, turning blood into a weapon that shifts from octopus-like tentacles to sharp knife shards.
"Our task was to make her power look rigid enough to feel contained and be used as a weapon, while fluid enough to feel like real blood."- Adam Jewett, VFX Supervisor
The build required a dynamic blood whip modeled after octopus tentacle movement, high-velocity simulations referencing zero-gravity space fluids, and razor sharp 3D shards.

“...the Tremont Street environment was a huge undertaking. A character in and of itself, with every detail needing to be accurate to reflect the time-periods and the eventual state of disrepair throughout the story.” Tom Plaskett, VFX Supervisor
The build required over 30 homes, and their surroundings, including greenery, electrical lines, and specific house details to sell the realistic neighborhood setting.
